GoDaddy Email IMAP and SMTP settings
GoDaddy's hosted mail (formerly Workspace Email) runs on secureserver.net. Customers often discover the settings only after buying a domain.

Username
your full email addressConnect in three steps
- 1
Use the full mailbox address as the username.
- 2
If the account is a Microsoft 365 mailbox sold by GoDaddy, use the Microsoft endpoints instead.
What usually breaks
GoDaddy sells both its own Workspace Email and Microsoft 365. Check which product the domain is on.
SMTP sending limits apply per mailbox and can be as low as 250 messages per day.
Resolve it instead of hardcoding it
A custom domain on GoDaddy Email has the same MX infrastructure as the consumer product. That is what mailintel reads.
import { mailintel } from "mailintel";
const result = await mailintel("[email protected]");
result.provider; // "godaddy"
result.connection.imap; // { host: "imap.secureserver.net", port: 993, security: "tls" }
result.connection.smtp; // { host: "smtpout.secureserver.net", port: 465, security: "tls" }
result.connection.username; // "[email protected]"What is GoDaddy Email's IMAP server?+
imap.secureserver.net on port 993 using SSL/TLS. The username is the full email address.
What is GoDaddy Email's SMTP server?+
smtpout.secureserver.net on port 465 using SSL/TLS. Most clients also accept the alternate submission port with STARTTLS.
Does GoDaddy Email need an app password?+
Not necessarily — a regular mailbox password works, though a dedicated app password is still a good idea if the provider offers one.
